Descripción
Rustic and picturesque village in the heart of the Saja reserve. It is situated in a valley flanked by small hills, with a concentrated group of houses in a rectangular layout, featuring two main streets and squares. All the houses are typical of the area, most of them built during the Fernandine period, with façades facing south or east, flanked by windbreaks, and having two floors: the lower one with a portico and the upper one with the typical balconies. They are made of masonry, although the quoins and openings are made of ashlar, and the interior is made of wood. The 17th-century church, dedicated to Santa María, has an interesting 18th-century baroque altarpiece.
That town was declared a historical-artistic site in 1980.
