The Natural Park of the Marshes of Santoña, Victoria anda Joyel is a protected natural area comprising the estuary formed by the river Ason and the marshes of Victoria and Joyel. It has an area of more than 6,500 hectares and it covers the municipalities of Ampuero, Argoños, Arnuero, Barcena de Cicero, Colindres, Escalante, Laredo, Limpias, Noja, Santoña and Voto.

Concerning water birds, this wetland complex is the most important in northern Spain, with over 130 different species identified, which makes it the perfect place to watch them.
The Park has an Interpretation Centre that organizes activities, workshops and guided tours, related to disclosing nature, and that is located in the Port of Santoña, in the building Mirador de las Marismas. To sign up for any activity, it is necessary to book in advance by calling +34 942 67 17 24.
